Abstract: Creating resilient and durable stormwater pipelines is an expectation of local and state authorities. Meeting the expectation is simple when you know how. Buried stormwater pipelines are a long-term investment and their effective service life can be ensured by putting in place steps that can be put in place to reduce risk and maximize resilience and ensure pipeline asset longevity. These include good specification, knowing the critical design criteria and the parameters that make a difference, knowledge of installation and post installation inspection essentials. Once all of those involved – specifiers, design consultants, manufacturers, installers and inspectors – know the essentials and put them into practice, the practice of delivering quality durable pipeline assets is simple. This paper provides practical advice and essential recommendations based on industry experience and demonstrates that at least a 100-year asset life is obtainable by relating the results of a CPAA led product durability .
