We have all experienced the affects of inflation in our daily lives. From fuel price rises to our weekly trip to the grocery store. The ongoing affects of COVID and economic instability of our world are unprecedented. The impact of these affects are not only social but also intrinsic to our physical world. The aim of this presentation is to provide an overview on how Darling Downs District is continuing to deliver infrastructure works under these challenging circumstances. The route cause of some of these inflation affects will be reviewed and an outlook to the future will be expressed. Ultimately the work we do is costing tax payers and the public more. We need to ensure our efficiency and effect on the networks we work with are beneficial. After a period of flooding and a heightened awareness on the importance of connection is driving Darling Downs District to continue to deliver infrastructure works. A comparison of unit rates and the affects on projects will be presented to understand how we can better plan and manage our infrastructure. We aim to delivery sustainable road infrastructure networks that connect freight and people to the locations they are needed in a safe way.en_US
