How do you inspect multiple known flood sites in remote areas in a matter of minutes? Quilpie Shire Council has been installing a network of site monitoring cameras across the Shire to do just this. The Cameras allow us a live view of the sites, also giving the same access to Emergency Services and the TMC. The public can also access still updated every 30 minutes via Council’s Disaster Management Dashboard, keeping them more informed and allowing them to make informed decisions before travelling the roads. Combined with this, Council have also installed permanent, drop down “Water Over Road” and “Road Closed Road Flooded” signs. With a cache of barrier boards, and temporary Road closed signs at these locations for rapid deployment.en_US
