| Abstract: | The environmental performance of the waste and recycling sector is an increasingly prominent issue. There is a focus by the regulator and community on the dual goals of waste reduction and on improving the environmental performance of our waste processing and landfill facilities. This manifests in greater scrutiny of environmental authority conditions, formal and informal compliance action and an investment in infrastructure, processes and engagement. This presentation will explore the legal tools available to operators and the regulator to address changes to environmental standards and the receiving environment over time |
