In October 2021, the Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning released the Local Government Sustainability Framework Discussion Paper. The discussion paper sought feedback from councils and other stakeholders about the development and implementation of a new approach to monitoring local government sustainability, which is focused on providing the department and councils with greater insight into the challenges faced by the sector and better support the development of more tailored and relevant solutions. This session will present an update on feedback received in response to the discussion paper and the development and implementation of the sustainability framework.en_US
