This presentation provides an overview of different applications of highly engineered geosynthetic reinforcement systems (up to 3,000kN/m) in geotechnically demanding conditions for ground improvement as well as base reinforcement, and of specialised geosynthetic containment systems as a far more sustainable, higher-performing, cost-effective and time/process efficient alternatives to traditional construction methods that heavily rely on non-renewable resources. Based on field-verification and the experience locally and globally, the presentation offers sustainable design concepts that can be used by road and airfield asset owners to reduce construction costs and increase asset performance, while also achieving higher operational efficiency through time and process savings on a variety of civil construction projects.en_US
