1. National and international perspective on the use of marginal and non-standard materials in sealed road construction. 2. Observations on the challenge of maintaining and providing low volume roads, and building on experience. 3. Current initiatives with a focus on: – appropriate use of marginal and non-standard materials in road construction and maintenance (under Austroads) – establishing a protocol for assessing marginal and non-standard pavement materials (under Queensland NACoE).
